I ended up going to Sivada’s Cupcakery (pronounced like NEVADA) because this past June I went to Florida to visit my childhood friend, Nyah. I know I’m late posting about some place I went to seven months ago, but I doubt anything has changed since!?

Anyway, she took us to a cute little cupcakery down in the Avondale district of Jacksonville (she knows how much I love dessert). Because I just tried two cupcakes and the menu is very small, I’m not going to do a full restaurant review; I’m just going to recommend you go because the cupcakes are DELICIOUS!

They have your regular cupcake flavors such as (triple) chocolate, red velvet, and strawberry cake, but, for me, the main event was their unique (and, thank goodness, LARGE) specialty cakes. These specialty treats included tiramisu and Boston creme (my picks), as well as creme brulee, chocolate mousse, vanilla cheesecake (filled), strawberry cheesecake (filled), and banana pudding.

I only tried two: tiramisu and Boston creme, but I would have to pick the tiramisu as my ultimate favorite, though both were great. If you prefer to have coffee with your sweets, there is a Keurig machine in the back right corner that can be used for a small fee.

Unsurprisingly, the shop itself was adorable. Pastels and flora decorate the space, making it an extra-cozy spot to enjoy an extra-tasty sweet. There’s seating both outside and inside, but we chose to eat inside because the Florida sun was scorching.
