I’m currently finishing up my sophomore year of college, and in these two years I have…
- Left my key in classrooms
- Dropped my key outside
- Forgotten to bring my key with me
- Not realized when my key slipped off my arm/hand
In other words, I’ve lost my dorm key a lot. That is, until this semester. For Christmas my mom gave me a new key bracelet, and though I was skeptical of its bulkiness, wearing it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
Originally, I wore my key on one of these springy bracelets (pic below). It was better than nothing, but it’s lightweight-ness and oversized-ness (sorry for the made-up words) made it really easy to lose.

The Solution: Jilzarah Wrist Keychain

I canot emphasize enough how much I love it—I haven’t lost my key or left it behind once since I started wearing it! I have a neutral, gray version, but there are a lot of color and pattern different options. Here is the website for a complete list!
It’s easy to notice if you lose it
As you can see, the clay beads are really big. If it does slip off your arm, you’ll notice! Or, if you forget to put it on altogether, you’ll think to yourself, My arm feels like it’s missing something. And then you’ll quickly run up the three flights of stairs to get back to your room and grab it before you’ve even stepped out the dormitory. True story!😄

It fits well
One of my main problems with the old bracelet was that it wouldn’t stay up my arm. This one stays wherever I place it—wrist, elbow, or right under my shoulder (If I have to run to class I like to push it up high). Also, since the beads are clay and not plastic they don’t dig into the skin or cause any kind of discomfort.

It’s cute, stylish, and good quality!
I love that not every bead looks the same (this bracelet comes with four different types of patterns). If you’re waiting for class to start and have no emails to check you can examine the designs😂. I also think the bracelet does a pretty good job at complementing my outfits! Oh, and this bracelet has gone through a lot of running, jumping, pulling, stretching, and a bunch of other verbs that end in -ing. But it has never broke!

Some cheaper alternatives
I’m sure my mom got this one on clearance, but the regular price on the website is a little high ($26). I think it’s worth the price, but here are some cheaper alternatives on Amazon in case you’re skeptical!
*Note: Both have some complaints on the quality of the string
Maybe I’m just clumsy, but this bracelet has certainly been a life-saver for me. If you also lose your dorm key a lot, I hope this post helped!
P.S. If you’re going on a little outing to First Watch, here’s a review of their newest vegetarian option!
