I should probably explain that by “haul,” I am referring to the 4 items my seventeen year-old self can afford. In fact, this is probably the most amount of makeup items I have ever bought at one time (not including my Dollar Tree makeup haul). Anyways, my Ciaté London purchase was actually kind of an impulse buy. I was browsing the Internet when I came across their website, noticed they were having a flash sale, and realized they had the exact type of lipstick I had been looking for: red and glittery. Because I had to spend a certain amount of $ for free shipping, I ended up getting four items, but spent only $43! Talk about a steal of a deal!

The Products
Item 1: Liquid Chrome Lip in Venus: I got this item for half-off, $9. I mainly bought it in order to qualify for free shipping, but I ended up loving this one a lot! It glides on super easily and looks great with or without other makeup. When I run out, I definitely plan on purchasing this again, as it has become one of my “regulars.” It’s also vegan, which is great. The color really is beautiful, but I do wish it had more moisturizing properties, like my Burt’s Bees lip gloss. Also, the longevity isn’t too bad, either! I would recommend sticking it in your purse to touch up after a few hours if you’re going to be out all day, though. Overall, I really love this product and even though I got it for a drugstore retail price, I would be willing to pay the regular $18 for it if need be.
Item 2: Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick in Scandal: This is the product that drew me to the website. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve heard of the magical lip product that turns glittery after smacking your lips. This seems to be one of the products the company is known for, and so I’m really glad I bought it even if just to say I tried it! So, the big question is: Does it work? Yes, initially… After having the product for 4 months, it seems to have lost its effect?. The first two photos below are before smacking my lips, and the third is after. Even though that photo is blurry, I think you can tell that there isn’t much of a difference! Although originally $19/piece, I got two-for-$12 because of a flash sale, and it’s a good thing, too. This was my least favorite item I purchased, plus, I love a good, natural look, and this liquid lipstick is a very, very bold red. It’s also very drying! For a more detailed review, go here.
Before “glitter flip” Before “glitter flip” After “glitter flip”
Item 3: Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick in Forbidden: I actually like this shade a lot more than the red Scandal shade. It’s still drying, and also bold, but I can still see myself wearing this one out because I love the wine color! This one also doesn’t flip to glitter like it did when I first bought it, but it gets a bit glitzier than my Scandal. Unless I find a more moisturizing lipstick of the same color, I’ll probably keep buying this one.
Item 4: Glitter Storm Lipstick in Flash: Okay, for this item I paid the regular price of $22. I was hoping that this would be the lipstick of my dreams: a smooth, satiny lipstick with the perfect red pigment (not too bold and not too dull), plus a glittery sparkle added to it. Thankfully, the lipstick was perfect ($22 lipstick is expensive for someone with no job). I use it all the time, and I have to say that what I love most is how buildable it is. One swipe gives a lovely, natural, sparkly red color (almost sheer), and I can easily get a brighter red if I’m feeling more adventurous. Is this my favorite lip product, period? It just might be! Tip: I love to top it off with some Glossier Lip Gloss in red!
Value
Overall, I’m very content with the prices I paid. I would definitely buy the Glitter Storm lipstick full price, and the same goes for the Liquid Chrome. Like I mentioned earlier, I got the Glitter Flip lipsticks 2 for $12; I wouldn’t buy them again regular price and I definitely would not buy the color Scandal again at all. I would buy the shade Forbidden again, though, along with another color if there was another flash sale. The quantity and staying power is pretty average, so it’s really the color and glitter/chromatic effects that make these Ciaté products worth the money. Just keep in mind that the glitter flip effect did not last long in my experience!
Packaging
Normally, I wouldn’t make packaging a section. After all, you shouldn’t judge a book by its color! However, Ciaté really made a great first impression with their popping, sparkly boxes. As soon as I saw them, I felt pretty confident that the items inside would be just beautiful as the boxes they were in. I wasn’t disappointed!
Consensus
I recommend the Glitter Storm Lipstick and Liquid Chrome Lips 100 percent. They’re both very easy to apply and the colors look great! If you’re curious about the Glitter Flips, they’re worth trying, but I highly recommend getting them on sale. I definitely would try to spend less than $10. Overall, I think the products at Ciaté London are fun and inventive and I can’t wait to see what they release next!

By the way, the dress I’m wearing is by Taylor.
